I Know Him Now

I know him now,
The man with hair of fine spun silver.
He is a shimmering essence of moonlight
In the dreariness of my world
A glistening personality,
A mage and a warrior,
Weaving magick,
Telling tales,
protecting me from harm
And scorn.

I know him
I know him now,
The man with rainbow colored eyes.
An endless chasm opens within him and
I relish swimming in his soul.
Dew laden green fields
Spread before my mind and
Keeps my troubles at bay,
Filtering sunlight
Through the yellow-green leaves
Of fresh spring.

I know him now,
The man with a mind of great wisdom.
A library of knowledge
Fall from his soft lips,
Precious diamonds
Of thoughts and ideas.
An overwhelming sense of self,
Freedom.
He flies through the clouds
To soak in the starlight,
Feeling nor wind or cold,
I long to join him.

I know him now,
But he is not mine.
A heavy heart beats within my breast,
Struggling to accept
Longing to be loved
But I know him now.
