Woot! Website update! Check out the keen graphics. Oh, yeah. It's smooth. It's hip. It's cool. And all mine!

Sorry that the links aren't quite working yet. I'm slowly getting this thing more organized... slowly. Be patient. ^.^

I Paint Pictures - Does that make me an artist?

So, here's another brief entry showcasing my newest work. I'm still in the painting class even after one week! (see previous entries regarding commitment issues) Not sure what to say other than every time we're instructed on a new assignment, I somehow don't understand the instructions and do my own thing - which in turn ends up being in my favor (but the professor is crazy like that) because suddenly I'm some artistic genius. Whatever. I paint the way I think is the right way according to the instructions, and if people like it then cool beans. . .

Did I just seriously use the words "cool beans"? Ugh, I'm disgusted with myself enough already.

Anyway, here we go.

Woman in a Garden - this was painted last week on prestretched boxed paper, and I don't know the dimensions because I haven't measured it. My sister already asked for it, so it's not available. The assignment was to use greens or cool colors as the main colors and not to use black (I cheated and used a little black, and consequently got yelled at for it).

Moonlit Mountain - Painted today. Also don't know the dimensions, but maybe someday I'll have them. This painting IS currently available. I'm just giving them away. It's a beginning art class. No one in their right mind would buy them. Anyway, the assignment was to do this sort of "drip" technique where it's a really watered down black (and we're supposed to paint in various shades and values of grey) and I was supposed to let it drip down the canvas. . . I didn't like the dripping, so I made the brush strokes as even as possible - which was not the assignment. Oh, well. Then the teacher suggested I add a little collage art to it, so I made some grey clouds, dackled the edges, and voila! Art!

Then I have some sketches that I made during the late shift with the new pencils I bought at Aaron Brothers.

And that's it!
